Inspirations, which is widely known for its almost endless supply of home decoration items and also for the selling of high-level household items, sells exclusive products from Elektro Blok B.V., which is headquartered in Duivendrecht, the Netherlands. The store in Cole Bay, St. Maarten is a franchise, owned by a company in Aruba.

The secret of the success, according to the owner Darnell Pelgrim, has been that as far as home decoration is concerned "Inspirations" is very trendy. "We have only European items supplied by Blokker, which the local St. Maarteners and the Dutch and French residents like very much."

Over the years Inspirations has gone more into decor and gift items and less into household articles, Darnell points out. "In pots, we carry the higher lines and also some cleaning items, but not cheap stuff."

In the area of decoration, the store carries a wide selection of candles in many colours and sizes. They also have vases and stemware (glasses and so on).
