La Plantation Mont Vernon is located on the main road between Grand Case and Orient Bay, between the turnings for Cul-de-Sac (Pinel Island ferries) and Boo Boo Jam. The sign is dearly visible on the roadside.
Admission is $12 for adults and $7 for children aged between 3 and 12 years, and includes rum and coffee tasting.
Group tours available, minimum 20 persons.
Children's birthday parties also available on request in the gardens of the plantation house.
Visit a real Plantation from 1786. Entirely renovated and recently opened to the public, Mount Vernon Plantation, an ancient sugar making haven dating back to 1786, is at its most authentic state.
On more than two hectares of a magnificent park among plantations of cotton, coffee, manioc, tobacco, corn, sugar cane and spices gardens, you will discover the trade secrets of rum production, the coffee roasting art, the mysteries of indigo.
Go back in time and experience the 18th century environment where life revolved around the production of indigo, growing sugar cane and making rum.
To close off your tour make sure to visit the gift shop. Rum and coffee made on the premises are sold in their distinctive Plantation bottles and make wonderfully authentic souvenirs. The shop has a vast array of other Caribbean souvenir items, many of them not found elsewhere.
And, not to forget the fantastic playground which will keep the kids happy for hours while you relax in the shade with a truly unique cup of freshly made coffee.
