This restored 18th-century green-and-black plantation greathouse is located in an old sugar plantation. The Old House's interior, including living room and bedroom, carefully replicates the life of a typical planter and shows period furniture and original family portraits and personal objects from six generations.
The museum's complementary second half retraces the history of rum, from the first voyages of Columbus, through the buccaneer days and the rise of the sugar plantocracy, up to the effect of Prohibition.
